Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and capable service provider to conduct the auctioning of movable assets on behalf of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, specifically for the Ethekwini Regional Office.

Scope

The scope includes the auctioning of movable assets owned by the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure within the Ethekwini Regional Office jurisdiction. The selected service provider will be responsible for managing the entire auction process, ensuring compliance with departmental requirements, and providing professional auction services.

Technical Requirements

• The service provider must be a registered auctioneer with the South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA) and provide valid proof of registration.
• The provider must adhere to the Department’s requirements for sealing, addressing, delivering, opening, and assessing tenders as specified in the tender document.
• The bidder must be registered on the Central Supplier Database.
• The department reserves the right to conduct a risk assessment prior to awarding the contract.
• All submissions must be on the official tender document; retyping or redrafting quotation forms is prohibited.
• Late submissions and proposals via telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, or email will not be accepted.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience and capability in auctioning movable assets.
• Registration with the South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA).
