Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the disaster intervention related to water and wastewater infrastructure damaged by floods, specifically involving the manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 50 m³/day packaged wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) at Thulasizwe WWTW.

Scope

The scope of works includes:

• Manufacture of a 50 m³/day packaged wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
• Supply of all necessary equipment and materials.
• Installation and commissioning of the treatment plant.
• Testing and ensuring operational readiness of the plant.
• Site inspection and site-specific activities as required following the clarification meeting.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• Minimum CIDB grading of 4ME or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 5 similar water or wastewater treatment projects, with supporting appointment letters or official orders.
• Qualified personnel with a minimum National Diploma in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience post-registration with ECSA.
• Provision of detailed documentation demonstrating understanding of plant and equipment needed, including key plant such as TLBs and tipper trucks, owned or leased by the bidder.
• A comprehensive methodology outlining the approach to executing the project, including the proposed wastewater treatment solution.

Skills Requirements

The skills and personnel requirements include:

• Qualified chemical engineers with a minimum of 5 years' experience in water or wastewater projects.
• Experienced site agents with relevant qualifications and professional registration (ECSA).
• Demonstrated ability to manage and operate key plant and equipment required for the project.
• Capability to develop and implement detailed project methodologies and approaches.
