Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for disaster intervention related to water and wastewater infrastructure damaged by floods. Specific aims include the rehabilitation of access roads, yard pavements, weirs, and the refurbishment or replacement of pumps at various Water Treatment Works (WTWs) within the Zululand District Municipality area.

Scope

The scope of works encompasses:

• Rehabilitation of yard pavements and access roads at multiple WTW sites, including Belgrade, Ceza, Nkonjeni, Nkosensta, and Ophuzane.
• Cleaning of weirs at Nkosensta WTW.
• Restoration of gabions, refurbishment or replacement of pumps, and access road rehabilitation at Ophuzane WTW.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Demonstration of ownership or leasing of key plant and equipment such as excavators, TLBs, tippers, graders, and rollers, with attachments as needed.
• Provision of proof of office within Zululand District Municipality boundaries or within KZN/South Africa, with relevant proof of address.
• Compliance with CIDB grading requirements: minimum 3CE or higher for certain projects, 2CE or higher for others.
• Submission of appointment letters or official orders demonstrating previous experience in similar projects.
• Qualified personnel with a minimum National Diploma in Civil Engineering and relevant years of experience in road and stormwater projects.
• Adherence to procurement procedures, including payment of non-refundable fees and submission of proof of payment prior to document issuance.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required include:

• Qualified civil engineers with at least a National Diploma and relevant experience (minimum 1-3 years depending on the role).
• Experience in managing and executing road and stormwater infrastructure projects.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding and management of plant and equipment required for the works.
• Administrative skills to provide proof of office location and previous project experience.
