Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Blood Gas Cartridges suitable for the GEM 3500 machine, to enable accurate testing of patient blood gases at Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality, certified cartridges that meet specified standards and are compatible with existing laboratory equipment.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply and delivery of:

• 30 boxes of Blood Gas Cartridges for GEM 3500 analyzers
• Cartridges capable of processing up to 150 samples each
• Cartridges suitable for in vitro diagnostic use, conforming to specified standards and compatible with GEM Premier 3500 and 3000 analyzers

The procurement covers the entire process from order placement, supply, to delivery at Port Shepstone Hospital, with a once-off contract period.

Technical Requirements

• The cartridges must be sensor and reagent type suitable for blood gas analysis
• Must be equivalent to GEM PREMIER 3500 specifications
• Must be capable of holding up to 150 samples per cartridge
• Must be for in vitro diagnostic use
• Must be supplied with proof of certification (SABS/SANS or equivalent)
• Bidder must specify shelf life; failure to do so will disqualify the quotation
• Samples must be provided for evaluation if requested, with a strict timeframe for submission

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and certification requirements
• Proven ability to supply laboratory consumables of similar nature and volume
• Capability to deliver within the specified timeframe and meet quality standards
• Experience in supplying medical laboratory consumables, preferably for blood gas analysis
• Provision of technical documentation, product brochures, and data sheets to support product evaluation
• Ability to provide samples for testing and verification as part of the evaluation process
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with health and safety standards
