Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure dressing products incorporating ionic silver and calcium alginate, specifically 10 boxes of such dressings, for Greys Hospital under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality wound dressings that meet specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope of this tender includes:

• Supply of 10 boxes of dressing incorporating ionic silver and calcium alginate.
• Delivery of the goods to Greys Hospital at 201 Townbush Road, Northern Park, Pietermaritzburg.
• Adherence to the specifications and evaluation criteria attached to the tender documentation.
• Compliance with all technical, administrative, and legal requirements outlined in the tender process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the dressing must:

• Incorporate ionic silver and calcium alginate as active components.
• Conform to the specifications attached to the tender documentation.
• Meet the relevant SANAS/ISABS standards and quality specifications.
• Be supplied in 10 boxes, each containing 10 units of the dressing (200mm x 200mm).
• Include a detailed specification and evaluation criteria as part of the tender documentation.
• Be new, unused, and of the most recent models, free from defects.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Bidder skills and qualifications must include:

• Demonstrated ability to supply medical dressings that meet specified standards and specifications.

• Experience in supplying similar medical devices or dressings, supported by references or past performance records.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including registration with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) for manufacturing, importing, or distributing medical devices (if applicable).
• Ability to deliver within the specified delivery period and provide after-sales support, including warranty and quality assurance.
• Capacity to complete the procurement process in accordance with the Department of Health’s procurement policies and standards.
