Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply intraocular hydrophilic soft lenses in various sizes to McCord Provincial Eye Hospital, ensuring the availability of quality ophthalmic lenses that meet specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of approximately 900 units of hydrophilic soft lenses, including the supply of samples for testing, in accordance with detailed specifications. The contract period is set for one year, with the possibility of renewal, and includes delivery to the specified hospital location in KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Single-piece high-grade hydrophilic acrylic posterior chamber intraocular lenses.
• Includes a free injector capable of injection through a 2.20mm wound (non-wound assisted).
• Design features: 360° posterior square edge, 6.0mm optic, overall size 10-11mm.
• Power range: 5 diopters to 30 diopters in 0.5 diopter steps.
• Compliance with standards: ISO, CE, SABS.
• Samples are required for testing prior to full supply.

Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of ophthalmic lens specifications and standards.
• Ability to prepare and supply compliant medical devices according to detailed technical specifications.
