Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver surgical items to Edumbe CHC in KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of essential surgical equipment and consumables to support healthcare services at the facility.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various surgical items as specified in the tender documentation. The items are to be supplied on a once-off basis, with the delivery to be made to Edumbe CHC, KwaZulu-Natal, within the stipulated contract period. The procurement covers a range of surgical and medical supplies, including masks, tongue depressors, cuffs, laryngeal masks, CTG papers, sanitary pads, lancets, vaginal speculums, and other related items.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to specified standards, such as SABS approval and other relevant quality standards.
• Items should meet detailed specifications provided in the annexure, including size, material, and design features (e.g., silicone reusable laryngeal masks, wooden tongue depressors, specific sizes for speculums).
• All products must be new, unused, and of the latest models unless otherwise specified.
• Items must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit and comply with special packing instructions.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required and ensure all documentation is correctly completed and submitted.
• Items must be delivered within the agreed timeframe, with the delivery process adhering to the conditions specified in the tender.
• Suppliers must provide warranties, technical support, and spare parts as applicable.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven ability to supply medical and surgical equipment that meets quality standards and specifications.
• Experience in handling government tenders and compliance with procurement policies, including BBBEE certification and CSD registration.
• Capability to provide technical documentation, samples, and ensure timely delivery.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing procurement, including adherence to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and related regulations.
• Ability to complete and submit all mandatory documentation, including disclosure forms, preference points claim forms, and compliance certificates.
• Effective communication skills for inquiries and coordination with the Department of Health and relevant stakeholders.
