Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver electrical and other appliances/equipment to support community services and the health directorate within the City of Cape Town. The successful contractor will provide a range of specified appliances and equipment over a contract period of 36 months, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with technical and quality standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various electrical appliances and equipment, including but not limited to:

• Cooking ware (microwaves, stoves, ovens)
• Kitchen & office equipment (kettles, sandwich makers, toasters, urns, oil heaters, cleaning appliances)
• Refrigeration units (fridges, freezers, water dispensers)
• Television sets (LED smart TVs of various sizes)
• Power tools (welding machines, drills, grinders, impact wrenches, saws, etc.)
• Laundry appliances (washing machines, spin dryers, top loaders)
• Other appliances (vacuum cleaners, extractor fans, food warmers, beverage dispensers, etc.)

The delivery must be made to designated community and health facilities within the City of Cape Town, with brands and models specified in the tender documentation. The contractor is obliged to deliver the exact brands indicated in their offer during the contract period, with no substitutions allowed.

Technical Requirements

The appliances and equipment must meet the following technical standards:

• Compliance with specified capacities, wattages, and features as detailed in the specifications (e.g., microwaves with specific litre capacities, ovens with minimum wattages, refrigerators with specified volumes).
• Warranty period of at least 12 months for all products, with full manufacturer details and accredited service agencies within Cape Town.
• Products must be new, unused, and of the latest models or current standards.
• All appliances must be fitted with appropriate safety features, energy efficiency ratings, and conform to South African standards.
• Samples may be required for testing and must be provided as per specifications.
• All appliances must be delivered with proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful tenderer must demonstrate:

• Technical competence and experience in supplying electrical appliances and equipment to government or large institutional clients.
• Ability to provide certified manufacturer warranties and after-sales service through accredited agencies within Cape Town.
• Capacity to deliver within specified timeframes and adhere to quality standards.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including submission of safety plans if required.
• Registration on the City of Cape Town Supplier Database and the National Treasury Central Supplier Database.
• Provision of relevant documentation such as tax compliance certificates, declarations of interest, and conflict of interest disclosures.
• Ability to provide technical support, training, and maintenance services as specified in the tender documentation.
