Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider to perform major and minor maintenance services on laundry equipment at Bethesda Hospital. The aim is to prolong the lifespan of the equipment, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with quality standards such as SABS approval.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Providing major and minor servicing of specified laundry equipment as per attached specifications.
• Scheduling services due in May 2026 (major) and November 2026 (minor).
• Submitting detailed reports of services performed, signed job cards, and original tax invoices.
• Service of various laundry machines including tumble dryers, washing machines, roller irons, press irons, air compressors, sluice machines, domestic washers, and other related equipment.
• Additional scope involves supplying and fitting spare parts, ancillary components, and possibly sub-contracted items.
• Adhering to specified quality standards (SABS approved) and completing all work within the agreed schedule.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of services in accordance with the detailed specifications attached to the tender.
• Use of equipment that complies with SABS standards.
• Service reports and signed job cards to be submitted post-service.
• Completion of all services within the stipulated timeframes, with detailed documentation.
• Provision of spare parts, proprietary items, and sub-contract items as specified, with clear costing.
• Adherence to health and safety standards, including proper packing, transportation, and insurances.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Registered CIDB grading of at least ME (Mechanical Engineering) for compliance and capability.
• Technical expertise in servicing laundry equipment, including knowledge of specific brands and models listed.
• Ability to produce qualified reports, signed job cards, and maintain detailed service documentation.
• Experience in handling proprietary and spare parts, with the ability to supply and fit components as required.
• Compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, including adherence to SABS specifications.
• Capability to provide technical support, including troubleshooting and repair estimates for out-of-schedule repairs.
