Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure calibration services for various laboratory equipment used by ERWAT’s Scientific Services. The aim is to ensure that laboratory instruments such as digital thermometers, ovens, and digestion blocks are calibrated according to SANAS accreditation standards, maintaining accuracy and compliance with ERWAT’s operational requirements.

Scope

The scope includes calibration of specific laboratory equipment as detailed in the specifications:

• Digital Thermometers (various models and measurement ranges)
• Ovens (scientific and binder ovens with specified shelves and calibration points)
• Digestion Blocks (with specified calibration points)

The calibration must be performed at ERWAT’s laboratory location, adhering to ERWAT’s frequency and standard operating procedures. The service provider must be SANAS accredited for temperature calibration and capable of providing calibration certificates as proof of compliance.

Technical Requirements

• Calibration of digital thermometers at specified points (150°C, 200°C, 360°C, etc.) with an uncertainty of ±1°C.
• Calibration of ovens with measurement capabilities at 180°C and 105°C, including calibration points and an uncertainty of ±1.0K.
• Calibration of digestion blocks at specified points (200°C, 300°C) with an uncertainty of ±2.0°C.
• Provision of SANAS accreditation certificates for temperature calibration.
• Delivery of calibration certificates and reports within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with ERWAT’s in-house standard operating procedures and calibration frequency requirements.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Must hold SANAS accreditation for temperature calibration services.
• Demonstrated experience in calibrating laboratory equipment, specifically thermometers, ovens, and digestion blocks.
• Ability to produce valid calibration certificates compliant with SANAS standards.
• Technical expertise in calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty, and quality assurance.
• Capacity to perform calibrations at ERWAT’s laboratory location within the required timeframe.
• Proven track record of delivering calibration services to similar laboratories or municipal entities.
