Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance, operation, and repair of the Mal CHC Sewer Plant. The service aims to ensure the proper functioning of the sewer plant, including inspection, cleaning, repairs, and compliance with health and safety standards, to support wastewater treatment and environmental safety.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of required materials and equipment.
• Routine and scheduled maintenance of the sewer plant, including checks on plant operation, pumps, tanks, and electrical systems.
• Inspection, cleaning, de-sludging, and servicing of septic tanks and associated components.
• Testing and ensuring all plant components operate within specified standards.
• Preparation of reports on plant condition, repairs, and additional repairs needed.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during service delivery.
• Completion within a contract period of four weeks from site handover.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with all relevant standards, including SABS specifications and Department of Health standards.
• Inspection and servicing of sewer plant units, septic tanks, pumps, and electrical systems.
• Cleaning and de-sludging of septic chambers and tanks.
• Checking and maintaining mechanical and electrical components, including pumps, motors, and control panels.
• Use of approved proprietary materials and equipment.
• Provision of safety measures, including hazard notices, PPE, and safety guarding, in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993.
• Preparation of detailed reports post-service, including recommendations for repairs or additional work.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to possess:

• Qualified personnel with relevant trade certificates (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
• Experience in operating and maintaining sewer treatment plants and related infrastructure.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and proper safety management practices.
• Ability to conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical and electrical components.
• Capability to prepare detailed technical reports and documentation.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including registration on the Central Suppliers Database and tax compliance.
