Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver disposable SpO2 sensors suitable for neonates and paediatrics, ensuring continuous and accurate monitoring of oxygen saturation and pulse rate in clinical settings.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of 600 units of disposable SpO2 sensors designed specifically for neonates and paediatric patients. The sensors must meet specified technical standards and be suitable for use in Victoria Mxenge Hospital, under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Application: Flexible adhesive, foam, or cloth wraps for secure placement on fingers or limbs.
• Material: Soft, breathable, non-sterile, latex-free materials.
• Cable Length: Typically between 45cm (17.7 inches) and 1 meter (3.2 ft).
• Single Patient Use: Designed to reduce cross-contamination.
• Sterility: Generally non-sterile.
• Accuracy: Within ±2-3% for SPO2 (70%-100%) and ±2-3 bpm for pulse rate.
• Packaging: To be supplied in units, boxes, or packs as specified.
• Sample Requirement: Yes, samples must be provided for testing and verification.
• Compliance: Must adhere to specified quality standards and specifications attached in the annexure.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying medical sensors or similar medical devices.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documentation.
• Capacity to provide samples for evaluation prior to full supply.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preference points and BBBEE requirements.
• Capability to deliver within the specified contract period and in accordance with the delivery schedule.
• Understanding of regulatory and safety standards applicable to medical devices in South Africa.
• Ability to provide technical support and documentation as required by the Department of Health.
