Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an Underwater Chest Drainage Kit that meets specified technical and quality standards for use at Addington Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of a sterile, reliable, and compliant chest drainage system suitable for adult patients, supporting effective medical treatment and patient care.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply, delivery, and documentation of the Underwater Chest Drainage Kit as per the detailed specifications provided. It encompasses providing physical samples, full CSD reports, and valid BBBEE certificates. The procurement covers up to 1000 units of the specified chest drainage kits, with delivery to Addington Hospital's main security security point at Prince Street, Durban, within the contract period.

Technical Requirements

• The kit must be an adult-size underwater chest drainage system with a capacity of 1500ML-2000ML.
• Includes 1ML milkable tubing, graduated up to 500ML, in a clear plastic container.
• The system must be sterile, single-use, and supplied complete with adaptors and protectors.
• The container must have a screw cap with gasket to prevent leakage, and a clamp for attachment to patient clothing or bedding.
• All components must be supplied complete, sterile, and ready for use.
• The packaging must clearly indicate date of manufacture, expiry date, lot/batch number, and company details.
• Samples must be provided on or before the closing date for evaluation and approval.

Skills Requirements

• Proven capability to supply medical-grade sterile equipment in accordance with specified standards.
• Ability to provide comprehensive documentation including full CSD reports and BBBEE certificates.
• Experience in supplying medical devices to healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Capacity to deliver the required quantity within the stipulated timeframe, demonstrating logistical and operational competence.
• Ability to provide physical samples and technical support during evaluation processes.
