Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 200 units of 20g 5cm arterial catheters that meet specified technical standards for use in invasive blood pressure monitoring and reading in critically ill adult patients at Greys Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of sterile, high-quality, and compliant arterial catheters to support critical care procedures.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply, delivery, and documentation of 20g 5cm arterial catheters, along with associated accessories such as guide wires and introducer needles, as specified in the detailed technical specifications. The procurement covers all related administrative, technical, and quality assurance requirements, including submission of samples, compliance with specifications, and adherence to procurement policies.

Technical Requirements

• One indwelling 20 gauge x 2" (5cm) radiopaque polyurethane catheter.
• Spring wire guide marked: .021" (0.53mm) diameter x 13-3/4" (35cm), straight with soft tips at both ends.
• Introducer needle: 20 gauge x 1-1/2" (4cm).
• Priming volume: 0.17ml.
• Must be sterile, latex-free, individually packed with expiry date.
• Compliance with specified size, material, and safety standards.
• Full specifications and quality standards attached (X3 pages).

Skills Requirements

• Understanding of medical device specifications, particularly for invasive vascular access devices.
