Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a major service to all Vryheid hospital plantrooms. This includes servicing, maintenance, repair, upgrade, and replacement works for fixed mechanical plant equipment and installations within the hospital facilities.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Servicing, maintenance, and repair of hospital plantrooms and associated mechanical equipment.
• Upgrading and replacing fixed mechanical plant equipment and installations as required.
• Work to be carried out across multiple hospital sites within KwaZulu-Natal, specifically at Vryheid Hospital.
• Provision of job sheets/delivery notes, including minor services such as cleaning, washing units, filling gases, and checking all connections.
• Spare parts usage and associated work as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with attached specifications for major servicing of hot water cartridges and other plantroom equipment.
• Adherence to quality standards and specifications outlined in the annexure and specification forms.
• Provision of detailed work reports, including job sheets, delivery notes, and service completion certificates.
• Use of approved spare parts and materials, with proper documentation and proof of quality.
• Compliance with the standards and specifications detailed in the procurement documents, including the requirement for CIDB grading 1ME Grade 01.
• Proper packing, delivery, and insurance of equipment and spare parts as per contractual conditions.
• Provision of warranties for the supplied services and parts, with a validity period of 12 to 18 months.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in servicing and maintaining hospital mechanical plant equipment, including autoclaves, compressors, vessels, hot water systems, and piping.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate CIDB grading (minimum 1ME Grade-01).
• Experience in executing similar maintenance and servicing works in hospital or similar healthcare environments.
• Ability to provide technical support, on-site supervision, and detailed reporting.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards, and compliance with relevant legislation and procurement policies.
• Capacity to supply quality spare parts, with proper documentation and warranty support.
• Competence in handling logistics, delivery, and installation of mechanical components, including insurance and packing requirements.
