Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver prosthetic stump socks that meet specified quality standards and specifications, ensuring they are suitable for patient use and conform to health and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various sizes of wool blend prosthetic stump socks, manufactured to detailed specifications, with samples to be provided for approval. The procurement covers up to 1600 units, with delivery to Orthopaedic Services at Wentworth Hospital, Durban, and the requirement for samples to be submitted before the closing date.

Technical Requirements

• Manufactured to wool blend standards with special inter-knit blend.
• Composition: minimum 42% wool, 24% polypropylene, 20% polyamide, 14% acrylic.
• Socks must be shrink-proof, machine washable, with a tight weave and good stretch recovery.
• Inter-phase with patient skin, soft smooth finish.
• Size range includes sizes such as 30F0, 35F2, 40F3, 50F4, etc., approximately 14 sizes listed.
• Individually packaged and labeled with company name/logo, size, and ply.
• Samples must be delivered to Orthopaedic Services at Wentworth Hospital before the closing date.
• High-quality standards must be maintained to ensure patient safety and product durability.
