Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Oil Immersed Current Transformers in accordance with Eskom's safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. The project aims to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient procurement and deployment of the transformers, aligning with Eskom’s goal of Zero Harm and environmental responsibility.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of Oil Immersed Current Transformers to Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. It includes adherence to all relevant legislative, safety, and environmental requirements, as well as Eskom’s internal policies and standards. The scope also involves ensuring proper documentation, safety management, and compliance throughout the procurement and delivery process.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of Oil Immersed Current Transformers meeting Eskom specifications.
• Compliance with relevant South African legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and Environmental Regulations.
• Adherence to Eskom’s SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) standards and specifications, including risk assessments, safe work procedures, and safety plans.
• Provision of necessary documentation such as SHE plans, risk assessments, and compliance certificates.
• Implementation of safety measures during transportation, handling, and installation.
• Provision of emergency preparedness and fire safety plans.
• Use of qualified personnel and competent safety officers for handling and delivery.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering electrical transformers, specifically Oil Immersed Current Transformers.
• Knowledge of South African safety, health, and environmental legislation and Eskom’s SHE policies.
• Competence in developing and implementing SHE management systems, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
• Qualified and registered safety officers and project managers with relevant certifications (e.g., SACPCMP registration).
• Technical expertise in handling, transportation, and installation of electrical equipment.
• Ability to prepare and manage SHE documentation, including safety plans, incident reports, and compliance records.
• Effective communication and coordination skills to liaise with Eskom’s SHE departments and project teams.
