Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for roof tiling at the Aquila Sub Station, including replacement of roof tiles and painting, with the aim of completing the work by 02 June 2026.

Scope

The scope of work involves:

• Repairs on the structure of the Aquila Sub Station roof.
• Replacement of roof tiles.
• Painting of the roof surface.

The work must be completed within a contract period of 2 weeks, including statutory and builder’s holidays. All excess and discarded materials must be removed from the site, and the site must be cleared to the satisfaction of the Project Leader.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to occupational health and safety regulations, including compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).
• Submission of a method and programme of work for approval prior to commencement.
• Completion of work within the specified contract period, with penalties for late completion (R500 per day).
• Provision of proof of competence and references for similar work previously performed.
• Site visits to understand work conditions and limitations.
• Provision of all required documentation such as bonds, guarantees, and proof of insurance within three days of receiving the agreement.

Skills Requirements

• Registered and qualified roofing contractors with CIDB grading of at least 1GB or higher.
• Demonstrated experience in roof tiling and painting projects of similar scope and complexity.
• Ability to prepare and submit detailed work programmes and safety plans.
• Capability to manage site clearing, waste removal, and adherence to safety standards.
• Proven track record of completing projects within stipulated timelines and budgets.
