Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply 40 boxes of Attest Super Rapid Biological Indicators (50 vials per box) to Victoria Mxenge Hospital, ensuring the availability of reliable biological testing tools for autoclave validation and sterilization assurance.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of the specified biological indicators to the designated facility within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement is a once-off requirement, with the delivery to be made to Victoria Mxenge Hospital, and includes compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations as outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Biological indicators must be single vials with indicator lines and stickers at the base, sensitive to steam at 134°C.
• Vials must contain live spores of a encapsulated microorganism, with the organism's name indicated outside.
• A food medium should be present within the vial, separated by a thin glass film from the spores.
• Vials must provide space for department details, cycle number, autoclave number, date, and be compatible with the 3M Mini Auto Reader 490M model.
• Information such as content name, supplier, batch and lot number, manufacture date, and expiry date must appear on the box and individual vials.
• Standards: ISO 9000.
• Packaging: Box of 4 mini boxes, each containing 50 vials (total 200 vials per package).
• Quality standard: Must meet ISO 9000.

• Bidder must demonstrate technical capability to supply biological indicators that meet detailed specifications.
• Ability to provide quality assurance documentation and comply with ISO 9000 standards.
• Proven experience in supplying biological indicators suitable for sterilization validation.
