Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Vaccine Cooler Boxes with a capacity of 41-50 liters to support the maintenance of the cold chain from the provincial depot to health facilities, ensuring vaccines are stored and transported within specified temperature ranges.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of 200 vaccine cooler boxes, each with a capacity between 41-50 liters, meeting detailed specifications regarding size, insulation, materials, and performance standards. The procurement is for the Provincial Pharmaceutical Supply Depot under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Technical Requirements

• Capacity: 41 - 50 Litres with a minimum internal volume of 41 Litres.
• Dimensions:
  • Inside: Length 400-520 mm, Breadth 300-330 mm, Height 250-400 mm
  • Outside: Length 480-570 mm, Breadth 385-410 mm, Height 315-480 mm
• Insulation: Minimum 30 mm thick polyurethane foam, CFC free, with sufficient density to maintain 2°C - 8°C for at least 48 hours at 30°C ambient temperature.
• Materials:
  • Cardboard: Recyclable, waterproof, biodegradable, with "C" flute
  • Polyurethane insulation
• Construction:
  • Insulated cardboard box with polyurethane molded insert
  • Secure-fitting lid of similar construction to ensure sealed transit
• Quality standards: Validation test results must be provided to confirm insulation performance.
• Additional features: Tolerance of 1 cm during manufacturing, and the box must withstand rough handling and environmental conditions during transit.
