Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure infusion pumps with accessories that meet specified technical and quality standards for use at Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of reliable, safe, and efficient infusion devices capable of delivering fluids, medications, and nutrients in a controlled manner, including blood administration functionalities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of ten (10) infusion pumps with accessories. It includes providing comprehensive training to hospital staff and ensuring ongoing technical support and maintenance services. The procurement is a once-off contract with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement.

Technical Requirements

• The infusion pumps must be suitable for adult, paediatric, and neonatal applications.
• Devices must be capable of automatic regulation of infusion rates and carry out blood administration.
• Units must operate from both mains power (220V ± 10%, 50Hz) and internal rechargeable batteries with a minimum backup of 6 hours at 125ml/h.
• Features include user-selectable infusion rates (1-999 mL/h), volume limits (1-9999 mL), rapid response times, and safety mechanisms against unauthorized tampering.
• Alarms for air in line, occlusion, low battery, infusion completion, and other malfunctions must be audible and clearly displayed.
• Devices must have a service mode accessible to technicians, impact-resistant casing, and be compliant with international safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1).
• Suppliers must provide manuals, software, optional accessories, and spare parts for at least 10 years.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Qualified technical personnel with manufacturer-certified training in the service, repair, calibration, and maintenance of the infusion pumps.
• Technicians must be employed directly or through authorized subcontractors, with proof of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) training.
• Availability of local service and repair facilities within KwaZulu-Natal, capable of providing prompt support (within 24 hours).
• Technicians must be familiar with the device's software, hardware, and safety features, and be able to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and calibration.
• Suppliers should demonstrate capacity for ongoing technical support, training, and supply of spare parts and accessories.
