Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint qualified service providers to carry out remedial works for roof leaks at the SABS Facility in Cape Town. The aim is to identify, repair, and ensure the long-term weatherproofing of affected roof areas, adhering to safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.

Scope

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Identifying the source and extent of water ingress and damage in affected areas.
• Repairing roof systems, fasteners, insulation, and associated components.
• Providing long-term weather protection.
• Ensuring safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices are followed.
• Using materials necessary for safe and effective execution of work.
• Completing the project within the specified duration.
• Verifying that all leaks are successfully resolved.
• Providing relevant quality documentation upon project completion.
• Ensuring compliance with OHSA requirements and organizational procedures.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the remedial works must:

• Identify and address all sources of water ingress and damage.
• Use appropriate materials and methods that meet safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Adhere to safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.
• Ensure all leaks are resolved effectively and permanently.
• Provide documentation confirming the quality and completion of work.

Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Company experience in roof leak remedial works, with detailed information or a company profile showing years of relevant experience.
• Provision of contactable reference letters from recent projects (not older than 5 years) involving similar work.
• Mandatory compliance with COIDA registration from the Department of Labour.
• Ability to meet safety standards and industry best practices.
