Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the cleaning of stormwater drains at RK Khan Hospital, ensuring proper maintenance and compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Cleaning of all underground stormwater and sewerage lines at RK Khan Hospital as per the bill of quantities.
• High-pressure jetting, camera inspection, and removal of growth (roots, trees, etc.) for stormwater and sewerage systems.
• Provision of health and safety documentation and compliance with standards such as SANS 10252-1:2012.
• Guarantee of work for 12 months from the date of completion.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• All plumbing work must adhere to SANS 10252-1:2012 standards.
• Materials used must be SABS approved.
• Commissioning to be conducted in the presence of hospital maintenance staff.
• Completion of a health and safety file.
• Site visits and measurements prior to quoting are compulsory.
• Work to be completed within a minimum of 2 weeks from official order, lasting approximately 1 month.
• All redundant materials to be removed from the site.

Skills Requirements

The contractor must:

• Provide professional tradesmen and qualified artisans.
• Be registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (C.I.D.B.) with a minimum grading of 1GB (proof required).
• Provide proof and recommendations of similar scope work previously undertaken.
• Ensure all materials are SABS approved and compliant with standards.
• Observe all safety precautions and site-specific safety protocols.
• Ensure proper documentation, including proof of work done and equipment catalogues.
