Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the provision of 24/7 armed close protection officers on an "as and when" required basis for a period of three (3) years. The aim is to ensure continuous security coverage and protection services as specified by Eskom.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and management of armed close protection officers who will provide security services on a 24/7 basis, responding to Eskom's operational needs. The services may involve site visits, escort duties, and other security-related activities as required by Eskom. The tender also encompasses related contractual, logistical, and compliance requirements for the duration of the contract.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of fully trained and qualified armed protection officers compliant with relevant security standards.
• Attendance at non-mandatory clarification meetings and site visits as scheduled.
• Adherence to Eskom’s security protocols and operational procedures.
• Capability to deliver services on an "as and when" basis, with flexibility to respond to Eskom’s needs.
• Compliance with all legal, safety, and regulatory requirements, including PSIRA registration, vetting, and security clearances.
• Provision of necessary documentation such as certificates of good standing, permits, licenses, and personnel qualifications.
• Labelling and cataloguing of delivered materials as per Eskom’s specifications.
• Participation in site assessments and demonstrations of capability during evaluation stages.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified armed security personnel with valid PSIRA registration and security clearances.
• Personnel with experience in close protection and security operations.
• Management and supervisory staff capable of overseeing service delivery and compliance.
• Technical skills related to security protocols, risk assessment, and emergency response.
• Administrative skills for documentation, reporting, and coordination with Eskom’s security team.
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with local content and BBBEE requirements where applicable.
