Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a minor service of the fire suppression system at Nkandla Hospital, ensuring preventative maintenance and compliance with safety standards.

Scope

The scope includes the execution of a one-time minor service of the fire suppression system located at Nkandla Hospital. The work involves testing, inspection, and necessary maintenance activities as specified in the detailed technical specifications, including testing control panels, smoke detectors, manual call points, and replacing batteries. The service must be carried out on-site at Nkandla Hospital's premises, with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

Technical Requirements

• Perform a comprehensive minor service of the fire suppression system as per the specifications provided.
• Test and inspect control panels, smoke detectors, manual call points, and replace 12V 7Ah batteries.
• Ensure compliance with South African standards, including SANS 10142-1, and relevant electrical and safety regulations.
• Complete all work within the stipulated guarantee period of 12 months from the date of completion.
• Provide detailed service reports within 2 days of service completion.
• Use only SABS-approved, South African-manufactured equipment and materials.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified gas serv iceman or commissioner registered with SAQCC.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining fire suppression systems, with proof via purchase orders and completion certificates.
• Knowledge of South African electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform testing, inspection, and replacement of system components as specified.
• Competence in preparing detailed service reports and documentation.
