Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an annual service for standby generators and diesel remediation at Rietvlei Hospital and associated clinics. The service aims to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of generators, including diesel tank cleaning, battery replacement, and related electrical work, to support hospital operations and minimize service disruptions.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Annual servicing of generators (including models such as Caterpillar 2406, Senabo 60kVA and 20kVA).
• Diesel tank remediation, including cleaning and sampling before and after service.
• Replacement of batteries (e.g., 12V 100Ah RC175min).
• Replacement of battery charger switches and contactors at specified clinics.
• Electrical installation, masonry work, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Provision of all materials, labor, and related services necessary for the completion of the work.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications mandate:

• Adherence to South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and National Building Regulations.
• Provision of a Certificate of Compliance for electrical installations upon completion.
• Proper storage and handling of materials to ensure safety and compliance.
• Health and safety plans, including risk assessments, to protect patients and staff during work.
• Execution of work on-site with minimal disruption, maintaining existing hospital operations.
• Guarantee period of at least six months for all materials and work.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Competence in electrical and mechanical maintenance of generators and diesel systems.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare facility maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
