The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service contract for the maintenance and servicing of Speed Queen washing machines at Appelsbosch Hospital. Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Providing a six-month monthly service contract for Speed Queen washing machines at Appelsbosch Hospital.
• Carrying out inspections, maintenance, and repairs as specified in the technical specifications.
• Ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations during service and repairs.
• Submitting detailed service reports after each maintenance visit.
• Running full test cycles post-service to confirm proper functioning.
• Providing necessary documentation, including safety plans, warranties, and compliance certificates.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope involves:

• Monthly inspection and servicing of Speed Queen washing machines, including checks on safety circuits, belts, drives, motor, steam valves, water levels, vibration switches, inlet and drain valves, door seals, control panels, and program verification.
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards such as SANS 10142-1, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
• Carrying out repairs for any detected faults, with repair quotations submitted if defects are found.
• Adhering to site safety and operational protocols to minimize disruption.
• Providing a detailed service report after each visit.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Certification as a qualified electrician or mechanical technician with a valid certificate of competence.
• Experience in servicing industrial laundry equipment, specifically Speed Queen washing machines or similar models.
• Ability to work with approved spare parts and materials, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards, safety regulations, and electrical/mechanical codes.
• Provision of a safety plan and proof of registration with CIDB (minimum grading EB/1ME).
• Capability to provide warranty and workmanship guarantees for the services rendered.
• Availability of authorized dealer or agent status for the equipment, with proof of authorization from the original manufacturer.
