Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 400 units of single-use Smooth Bore Breathing Circuits with an extra limb and breathing bag, suitable for medical use during anesthesia. The product must meet specified standards to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with relevant ISO standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of the specified breathing circuits to Greys Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement is a once-off purchase, with a validity period of 90 days for quotations. The product must adhere to detailed technical specifications, including design, materials, and packaging, and must be delivered to the hospital's designated tender box within the specified timeframe.

Technical Requirements

• Transparent, low-resistance, non-kinking, lightweight, crush-resistant, and pliable tubing that does not retain shape.
• Spiral outer casing supporting the inner lumen to maintain tube integrity.
• Includes an extra limb with an anti-static reservoir bag (2L capacity) that prevents twisting and provides good feedback on lung compliance.
• Connectors:
  • Malleable 22mm female connectors bonded to inspiratory and expiratory limbs, fitting securely to the machine.
  • Spare 22mm male/male connector, Y-piece at patient’s end, and a separate elbow-piece with capped luer lock port.
• Made from latex-free, non-pyrogenic, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and non-conductive medical-grade plastic.
• Individually packed and intended for single use only.
• Must comply with ISO 5367 or equivalent standards.
• Adult circuit length: approximately 1.8m; extra limb: approximately 0.8m; reservoir bag: 2L.
• Good quality to prevent leakage and disconnections.
