Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to re-issue a contract for the service and calibration of laboratory and online instruments at Eskom's Matimba Power Station over a period of 5 years. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of critical analytical instruments and process analysers to prolong equipment lifespan, maintain good laboratory practices, and support quality assurance processes.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of service, calibration, repair, and maintenance of various laboratory and online instruments such as ICP-OES, UV-vis spectrophotometers, TOC analysers, AAS, pH meters, chlorometers, and other analytical equipment.
• Annual servicing, calibration, and verification of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Management of service reports, feedback meetings, and documentation of findings.
• Adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards as per Eskom policies and legal requirements.
• Provision of spares, consumables, and calibration gases as needed.
• Coordination of work on the affected property with required permits and safety procedures.
• Regular meetings, reporting, and final project closeout activities including safety and environmental compliance.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Calibration and servicing of specified instruments as per OEM standards and Eskom specifications.
• Use of approved safety procedures, PPE, and compliance with SHEQ policies.
• Provision of qualified and authorized technicians with OEM certification for performing services.
• Preparation and submission of service reports, calibration certificates, and feedback meetings.
• Adherence to environmental management standards including ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 for gas metrology.
• Implementation of risk management, health and safety protocols, and incident reporting.
• Proper documentation, including drawings, safety files, and environmental aspects.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in calibration, servicing, and maintenance of laboratory and process analysers, preferably OEM certified.
• Qualified technicians with relevant certifications and technical expertise in analytical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of SHEQ policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations applicable to Eskom operations.
• Ability to prepare detailed service reports, calibration certificates, and conduct feedback meetings.
• Experience in managing safety, health, and environmental compliance during service activities.
• Capability to coordinate with Eskom personnel, obtain permits, and adhere to site safety protocols.
• Competence in documentation, reporting, and quality assurance processes aligned with ISO standards.
