Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to perform maintenance and servicing of fire safety equipment, specifically fire extinguishers, fire horns, and fire blankets, at the NHLS WCD Lab. The goal is to ensure that all fire safety devices are operational, compliant with safety standards, and ready for use in case of emergencies.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire horns, and fire blankets at the NHLS WCD Lab.
• Carrying out inspections, repairs, and refilling of fire extinguishers as required.
• Ensuring all fire safety equipment complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Documenting all maintenance activities and providing reports to NHLS.
• Adhering to the specified duration and resource requirements as outlined in the scope of works.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of fire extinguishers, fire horns, and fire blankets in accordance with applicable safety standards.
• Inspection, testing, and refilling of fire extinguishers to ensure functionality.
• Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and consumables for servicing.
• Compliance with the South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant legislation.
• Proper documentation of all maintenance activities, including service reports and certificates.
• Availability of qualified personnel with relevant certifications and experience.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in fire safety equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Certified and experienced technicians capable of performing inspections, repairs, and refills.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to produce detailed reports and documentation of services rendered.
