Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Triple Lumen Central Venous Catheter that is antimicrobial silver coated, 7 French in size, and 20cm in length, suitable for use in medical procedures such as multiple infusions, TPN, chemotherapy, and administration of acidic medications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of 20 units of the specified triple lumen central venous catheter to Grey’s Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement process involves compliance with technical specifications, submission of samples, and adherence to procurement policies and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Size: 7Fr x 20cm radiopaque polyurethane catheter with blue flex tip.
• Surface: Antimicrobial surface treatment with chlorhexidine and silver sulfadiazine.
• Design: Multi-lumen indwelling catheter with extension line clamps, injection site cap, and safety features.
• Materials:
  • Nitinol guidewire with ECG mark, kink-resistant, 0.032" diameter, 23.5-8" length.
  • Introducer needle: 18 gauge x 2-1/2" with extra thin wall.
  • Tissue dilator: 8.5Fr x 10.2cm.
  • Stopcocks: 4-way high-flow.
  • Drapes: 75cm x 90cm and 75cm x 50cm with adhesive.
  • Pressure transduction probe, pressure ports, and other accessories as specified.
• Packaging: Sterile, with a minimum shelf life of two years, including CE number, trade name, sterilization method, lot number, manufacturing and expiry dates.
• Sample: Must be provided with the quotation for evaluation.
• Compliance: Must meet the attached specifications and standards, including SANAS/SABS standards.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of medical device specifications, sterilization standards, and packaging requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with technical specifications through documentation and samples.
• Experience in supplying medical devices to healthcare institutions, particularly in sterile and controlled environments.
• Understanding of procurement policies, including preferential procurement regulations and compliance documentation.
• Capability to provide technical support, training, and after-sales service if required.
