Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure IV Cannula & Needle 24G for Port Shepstone Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of sterile, non-safety, radiopaque IV cannulas suitable for single use, complying with relevant standards and specifications, to support effective IV treatment in the hospital.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 12,000 units of IV Cannula & Needle 24G to Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement includes adherence to technical specifications, certification requirements, and delivery to the specified hospital department within the stipulated timeframe. The contract is a once-off purchase, with the possibility of subsequent negotiations if necessary.

Technical Requirements

• The item must be an IV Catheter Radiopaque, size 24G, with length 19mm, diameter 0.70mm, and flow rate 24 ml/min.
• The cannula must be non-safety, sterile, for single use, and without an injection port.
• Packaging: 50 units per box, with international colour code yellow.
• The item must include Lot No./Ref. No./Batch No., manufacturing and expiry dates, and manufacturer contact details.
• Compliance with SABS/SANS standards or equivalent certification is required.
• Supply and delivery to Port Shepstone Hospital, SCM Department, No. 7 Bazley Street, during office hours (07:30 - 15:00).
