Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure four (4) medical manikins to support nursing training at Frere Tertiary Hospital. These manikins will be used to facilitate essential clinical skills training, including airway management, CPR, intravenous infusion techniques, and neonatal umbilical cannulation procedures. The procurement aims to enhance practical training capabilities for nurses and medical professionals within the hospital’s CETU accredited training facility.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of four (4) medical manikins, each supporting specific clinical training procedures:
• Adult upper body airway management manikin
• Adult CPR training torso manikin
• Adult infusion training arm manikin
• Neonatal umbilical cannulation model for advanced life support training
• Provision of associated accessories such as carry/storage cases, user manuals, and consumable starter kits.
• End-user training on the use and maintenance of the manikins.
• Delivery to Frere Hospital and compliance with technical and contractual requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for each manikin are as follows:

1. Adult Upper Body Airway Management Manikin

• Simulates adult airway anatomy for practicing insertion (LMA/iGel or equivalent), airway maneuvers, and obstruction simulation.
• Supports procedures such as airway positioning, incorrect ventilation, and advanced airway interventions.
• Must support repeated training sessions and carry a 2-year warranty.

2. Adult CPR Training Torso Manikin

• Designed for CPR skills training, including landmarks, chest compressions, ventilation, and AED pad placement.
• Supports resistance, compression quality, and lift maneuvers.
• Must include accessories such as carry bags, user manuals, and consumable starter kits.

3. Adult Infusion Training Arm Manikin

• Supports intravenous cannulation, venipuncture, infusion procedures, and blood withdrawal simulation.
• Features multiple venous access sites (cephalic, basilic, median cubital, dorsal hand veins).
• Includes fluid reservoir systems, spare sets, and user manuals.

4. Neonatal Umbilical Cannulation Model

• Designed for neonatal umbilical vein and artery catheterization training, including umbilical stump anatomy and landmarks.
• Supports repeated catheter insertions with realistic resistance and correct placement depth.
• Must include carry/storage cases, user manuals, and at least two accessories.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Manufacturing or supplying certified, accredited medical manikins that meet the specified technical standards.
• Provision of comprehensive end-user training on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all four manikins.
• Ability to deliver all four manikins with associated accessories within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with warranty and after-sales support requirements, including repair or replacement of defective units.
• Provision of detailed manuals, consumables, and accessories as specified.
