Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a rate-based contract for the repairs, servicing, and calibration of manufacturer-specific renal equipment at Frere Hospital. The contract aims to ensure timely maintenance, safe operation, and compliance with OEM safety standards for critical renal equipment, including dialysis machines, infusion pumps, oscillating saws, and related devices, over a period of twenty-four months as needed.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of repair, servicing, and calibration of specified Braun Medical renal equipment at Frere Hospital.
• Collection and delivery of equipment from and to Frere Hospital at the vendor’s own cost.
• Compliance with hospital asset control documentation during equipment handling.
• Guarantee of a minimum of three months post-repair warranty (excluding user malicious damage).
• Ensuring equipment safety standards are met with appropriate documentation on every job card.
• Turnaround time for repairs not exceeding two weeks from collection.
• Completion of a detailed rates schedule and submission of invoices with job details for payment.
• Adherence to safety, insurance, and procurement procedures as specified.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Registered manufacturer on official letterhead supporting the vendor as an accredited Braun Medical service provider in South Africa.
• Collection and delivery of equipment at the vendor’s expense.
• Compliance with OEM safety standards, with relevant documentation attached to each job card.
• Guarantee of at least three months on repairs, excluding malicious user damage.
• Safe return of equipment with insurance during and after repairs.
• Repair turnaround time within two weeks of collection.
• Completion of the attached rates schedule (Annexure) for billing.
• Registration on Logis and provincial treasury supplier database, with supply of supplier number.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven capacity and capability to service, repair, and calibrate Braun Medical renal equipment.
• Official certification and accreditation as an authorized Braun Medical service provider in South Africa.
• Experience in handling hospital asset control procedures and documentation.
• Ability to perform repairs within specified turnaround times.
• Knowledge of OEM safety standards and compliance documentation.
• Insurance coverage for equipment during transit and repair processes.
• Demonstrated financial stability and compliance with tax and supplier registration requirements.
• Capacity to provide detailed rates and billing documentation as per the prescribed schedule.
