Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to render security guarding services at a permanent building in Mpumalanga for the Department of Agriculture. The services are required for a period of two (2) months on a month-to-month basis.

Scope

The scope includes providing security guarding personnel to ensure the safety and security of the Department's premises in Mpumalanga. The services involve physical security activities, including manning the premises with unarmed guards in corporate uniform, covering both day and night shifts, and ensuring all security protocols are followed. The scope also encompasses providing all necessary security equipment, uniforms, and related overhead expenses as detailed in the pricing schedule.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of unarmed security guards in corporate uniform.
• Guards to provide physical security activities during specified shifts (day and night).
• Guards to work for an estimated total of 12 hours per shift, with a specified number of guards per office building.
• All rates should be inclusive of direct costs such as leave provisions, study leave, family responsibility leave, night shift allowances, provident fund, bonuses, COIDA, UIF, uniforms, and other related expenses.
• Guards must be equipped with necessary security equipment, including firearms, batons, handcuffs, radios, flashlights, registers, and detection equipment.
• Overhead expenses such as profit, relievers, vehicles, control room, and security-related equipment are to be included in the total cost.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in security guarding services, particularly in a government or corporate environment.
• Knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ability to operate security equipment such as radios, detection devices, and firearms (if applicable).
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Professional appearance and conduct, with the ability to work in shifts, including night shifts.
• Capacity to adhere to all contractual and safety standards specified by the Department of Agriculture.
