Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure gastrostomy feeding tubes (20 Fr) to meet the needs of Grey’s Hospital under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality medical devices that conform to specified standards, supporting patient care and treatment requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of 50 units of gastrostomy feeding tubes (20 Fr) to Grey’s Hospital. The procurement process involves submitting compliant quotations, attending any mandatory site inspections, and adhering to the specified technical and administrative requirements. The contract is a once-off supply, with the possibility of evaluation based on technical specifications, price, and preference points.

Technical Requirements

• The gastrostomy feeding tube must be 20 Fr in size.
• The product must meet the specifications outlined in the attached Annexure A, including size, material, and quality standards.
• The item must conform to relevant SANAS/SABS standards.
• Samples may be required for evaluation, and only compliant samples will be considered for final award.
• The product must be new, unused, and of the latest model with all recent design improvements.
• The supplier must provide documentation confirming compliance with specifications and quality standards.

Skills and Competencies Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to supply medical devices that meet technical and quality standards.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of official forms and compliance with government regulations.
• Ability to provide technical support, including samples, specifications, and documentation as required.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing medical device procurement, including adherence to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and related regulations.
• Capacity to participate in site inspections and provide technical clarifications during the evaluation process.
• Compliance with administrative requirements such as disclosure forms, tax clearance, and preference points claim documentation.
