Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install built-in kitchen cabinets with granite countertops at SPSC Wynberg, ensuring the complete preparation, fitting, and finishing of kitchens across multiple buildings. The project aims to deliver high-quality, custom-made cabinetry and granite work that meet specified standards, including compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the following key activities:

• Preparation of existing kitchen areas, including removal of old cupboards, tiling, and obstructions, with disposal of rubble at municipal sites.
• Supply and fitting of kitchen cabinets, including various units (top, bottom, corner, sink units, drawers) as specified per building (HQ, Tender, Evaluation, Contract Management).
• Provision and installation of granite countertops, including measurement, cutting, securing, sealing, and waterproofing.
• Fitting of hardware, ironmongery, handles, hinges, screws, and other fittings.
• Ensuring all units are finished with specified melamine surfaces, impact edging, and shaker pattern doors in Lunar Ash colour or equivalent.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and technical standards, including site supervision, quality control, and compliance with specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Scope of Work (Appendix T), acknowledging each paragraph as "comply" or "do not comply".
• Provision of proof of qualifications for cabinet making and carpentry for all site team members.
• CIDB registration at level GB 1 or higher, active and valid at the time of submission.
• Provision of proof of CIDB grading, CSD registration, and tax compliance.
• Submission of detailed project plan, including delivery timelines, execution schedule, and removal of rubble.
• Completion of all mandatory forms and questionnaires, including SBD 4, SBD 6.1, enterprise questionnaires, and security vetting forms.
• Adherence to safety regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and site-specific conditions.
• Use of specified materials: melamine surfaces (16mm Lunar Ash), impact edging, granite tops (Rustemberg or equivalent), and hardware fittings.
• Proper sealing, waterproofing, and secure installation of granite countertops and cabinetry.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified cabinet makers and carpenters with relevant certifications and experience.
• Proven ability to execute similar projects with high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
• Technical expertise in measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing kitchen cabinetry and granite work.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety standards, including having a valid safety file and trained safety personnel.
• Capability to manage project timelines, logistics, and site coordination effectively.
• Experience in working within secure and restricted environments, respecting site security protocols.
