Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services related to medical air and vacuum systems at GJ Crookes Hospital. The scope includes maintenance, inspection, testing, and reporting on various medical gas and vacuum systems, ensuring their proper functioning, safety, and compliance with relevant standards. The service aims to support the hospital’s medical infrastructure by maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency for critical medical gases and vacuum systems.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of services and produce reports for oxygen points, manifold systems, vacuum pumps, compressors, alarm systems, and electrical panels.
• Inspection, calibration, hydrostatic testing, and leak testing of medical gas systems and associated equipment.
• Servicing and repair of medical air compressors, vacuum pumps, and associated control systems.
• Maintenance and repair of medical gas and vacuum alarm systems at various wards and departments.
• Servicing and repair of medical points across multiple hospital wards and theatres, including numbering and documentation of points.
• Attendance at compulsory site meetings and adherence to health and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with relevant standards such as SANS7396, ISO 11197, NFPA 99, and local building codes.
• Use of qualified Mechanical Artisans with valid trade test certificates.
• CIDB grading of ME (Mechanical Engineering) and valid license cards.
• Provision of certificates for calibration, hydrostatic tests, and pressure tests.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations and proper documentation of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
• Use of certified and qualified personnel for all service and repair activities.
• Provision of detailed reports for each service, including system condition, test results, and recommendations.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Qualified Mechanical Artisans with Trade Test Certificates.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining medical gas systems, vacuum systems, and associated equipment.
• CIDB grading of ME (Mechanical Engineering) with valid license cards.
• Proven track record of similar projects, with references and certificates of completion.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations such as SANS7396, ISO 11197, NFPA 99.
• Ability to produce detailed inspection, calibration, and hydrostatic test reports.
• Competence in troubleshooting, repairs, and system upgrades of medical air and vacuum systems.
