Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified Security Service Provider to render guarding services at Longstreet JV, 72 Longstreet, Kimberely in the Northern Cape for a period of twenty-four (24) months. The service aims to ensure the safety, security, and protection of the premises, staff, and assets in compliance with relevant legislation and organizational standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing security guarding services 24/7 at the specified premises.
• Deployment of trained security personnel (Grade C) to control access, monitor the site, and respond to incidents.
• Conducting regular patrols and inspections of the premises.
• Maintaining communication systems and reporting on security activities.
• Providing necessary security equipment such as flashlights, radios, batons, pepper sprays, handcuffs, and monitoring systems.
• Ensuring staff are appropriately dressed, trained, and compliant with organizational policies.
• Adhering to specified shift patterns: day (6am – 6pm) and night (6pm – 6am), including weekends and public holidays.
• Conducting site inspections and submitting regular reports.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of adequately trained and certified security personnel with valid PSIRA certificates (minimum Grade C).
• Deployment of a minimum of one security guard per shift, with experience in physical security guarding services.
• Availability of security equipment such as rechargeable flashlights, two-way radios, batons, pepper sprays, handcuffs, and a guard monitoring system.
• Implementation of a modern, state-of-the-art control room with communication links to on-site guards.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, including COIDA registration, B-BBEE certification, and SARS tax compliance.
• Provision of a detailed project implementation plan and team CVs demonstrating relevant experience.
• Participation in site inspections and adherence to evaluation criteria for functionality and site readiness.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in providing physical security guarding services.
• Qualified security personnel with valid PSIRA Grade C certificates and relevant training.
• Capability to manage security operations, including access control, patrols, incident reporting, and emergency response.
• Ability to operate and maintain security equipment and communication systems effectively.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills, including submission of weekly and monthly security reports.
• Knowledge of relevant South African security legislation and standards.
• Capacity to provide staff training, replacements, and ongoing supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to comply with all contractual, legal, and organizational requirements.
