Objectives

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of complete spectacles, including various types such as single vision, bifocal, multifocal, and ready-made readers, with specifications covering different prescriptions, lens types, tints, and coatings. The procurement covers:

• Complete sets of spectacles with frames, lenses, cases, cleaning cloths, and straps.
• Various lens types including organic plastic, polycarbonate, and high refractive index lenses.
• Different prescriptions and magnifications, including for children and adults.
• Specialized lenses such as photochromic, tinted, and prism-equipped spectacles.
• Delivery to multiple healthcare facilities within the province over a contract period of nine months.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications specify that:

• Spectacles must include a complete set with frames, lenses, spectacle case, cleaning cloth, and strap.
• Lens options include CR39, polycarbonate, and high refractive index, with various tinting and coating options.
• Single vision, bifocal, multifocal, and ready-made spectacles must adhere to prescribed prescriptions and standards.
• Prescription ranges and lens types must meet the detailed specifications, including specific powers and features such as knife edging for higher prescriptions.
