Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 12 boxes of paper steam sterilization bags (Size 11) that meet specified standards for use in the CSSD department at Addington Hospital, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of paper steam sterilization bags (Size 11), conforming to the latest standards (CKS 595, SANS ISO 50868 Part 1,3), with printing requirements and quality assurance. The procurement covers the entire process from submission of samples, technical compliance, delivery, and documentation, to meet the hospital's sterilization needs.

Technical Requirements

• Size No 11, with 500 bags per box.
• Suitable for steam sterilization in accordance with the latest standards (CKS 595, SANS ISO 50868 Part 1,3).
• Printing on front side: "DO NOT USE IF WRAPPER OR SEAL IS DAMAGED".
• Printing on back side: "MANUFACTURER'S NAME OR TRADE MARK", "SIZE OF BAG: NO 11", "DATE OF STERILISATION: ______", "EXPIRING DATE: ______", "SIGNATURE OF PACKER", "BATCH AND LOT NO. TO BE PRINTED BY THE COMPANY".
• Germ proofness test according to DIN standard 58953/6.
• Compliance with SAPHRA quality standards.
• Physical sample submission for evaluation.
• Adherence to packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.

Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of sterilization standards and testing procedures (CKS 595, DIN 58953/6, SANS ISO 50868).
• Experience in manufacturing or supplying sterilization packaging materials compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, quality certificates, and test reports.
• Capacity to produce and deliver samples for evaluation prior to full order placement.
• Competence in adhering to regulatory requirements set by SAPHRA and other relevant authorities.
• Effective communication skills for technical and administrative coordination.
