Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out repairs, servicing, operation, and maintenance of water care facilities at Patensie Correctional Services and De De Laar Community. The work is to be performed over a period of four months, ensuring the water care facilities are functional, well-maintained, and compliant with relevant standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repairs and servicing of water care facilities at the specified sites.
• Operation and maintenance activities to ensure continuous and efficient water treatment processes.
• Provision of qualified personnel to oversee and execute the tasks over the four-month period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The contractor must provide a minimum of four (4) key staff members, including:
• Supervisor: Must hold Regulation 3630 certification as Class V with Chemistry or Water Science or Water Care/Water Science or Chemical Engineering, or higher qualification.
• Process Controllers: Must be registered as Class III or higher with Regulation 3630, with qualifications in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Water Care/Water Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Fitter/Turner or Millwright: Must have passed a trade test and hold relevant trade certification.
• All key staff must submit proof of their qualifications and registration with their bid.
• The contractor must adhere to the amended staffing minimum of four (4) personnel, with specific qualifications as outlined.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements focus on:

• Qualified supervision with expertise in water treatment and chemical processes.
• Certified process controllers with appropriate registration and qualifications in relevant scientific or engineering disciplines.
• Trade-certified Fitter or Fitter and Turner or Millwright with proven trade test certification.
• Ability to perform repairs, servicing, and operational tasks efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
