Objectives

The tender aims to procure the supply and delivery of various bearings and rubber V-belts for the Nuclear Operating Unit (NOU) at Koeberg Power Station. The overarching goal is to ensure availability of critical spare parts on an “as and when required” basis over a period of five years, supporting planned and breakdown maintenance activities while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of various bearings, including ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, needle bearings, deep groove bearings, angular contact bearings, thrust bearings, and self-lubricating bearings.
• Provision of rubber V-belts, including matched sets and single belts of different profiles and dimensions, for use in plant systems and components.
• Delivery to Koeberg Power Station on an “as and when required” basis, supporting both stock replenishment and non-stock requests.
• Adherence to technical specifications, safety, health, environmental, and quality standards as stipulated in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Eskom’s specifications and technical datasheets for bearings and V-belts.
• Provision of technical datasheets and product documentation demonstrating conformity to Eskom standards.
• Warranties and guarantees of at least six months, with some requiring up to twelve months or more.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards, including compliance with Eskom’s SHE specifications and relevant legislation.
• Proper labelling, cataloguing, and labelling of delivered materials as per Eskom’s requirements.
• Use of approved Incoterms for delivery, with clear responsibilities for transportation, risk transfer, and documentation.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in supplying bearings and rubber V-belts, supported by reference letters and previous project experience.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and product quality standards.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental management systems, including SHE policies and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of Eskom’s procurement procedures, including eTendering processes and documentation requirements.
• Capability to provide technical datasheets, warranties, and product documentation.
• Understanding of local content and B-BBEE requirements, including declaration and compliance documentation.
• Experience in logistics, timely delivery, and handling of materials in a nuclear power station environment.
