Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply surgical items, including various medical devices such as suction catheters, cystostomy kits, and cannulas, to Nkandla Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the hospital is equipped with quality surgical supplies that meet specified standards and standards of safety and efficacy.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of surgical items as specified in the tender documentation. It includes providing the required quantities of items such as suction catheters, supra-public cystostomy kits, and Karman cannulas, conforming to detailed specifications, standards, and quality requirements. The procurement covers the entire process from quotation submission, technical compliance, to delivery at Nkandla Hospital within the stipulated contract period.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to the detailed specifications provided, including size, material, and standard compliance (e.g., SABS approved).
• Items should be sterile, single-use, and suitable for medical procedures such as manual vacuum aspiration and cystostomy.
• Suppliers must provide valid certificates such as CIPC, SAHPRA, CSD reports, and BBBEE certificates.
• Items must meet quality standards and be compliant with relevant South African standards (SABS).
• Delivery must be timely, with proper packing to prevent damage during transit, and include all necessary documentation.
• Samples may be required for evaluation, and suppliers must submit samples if requested.
• All quotations must be submitted on official forms and include all costs, including delivery and VAT where applicable.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven capacity to supply and deliver surgical items in compliance with technical specifications and standards.
• Ability to provide valid certification and documentation to verify compliance and quality standards.
• Experience in handling government procurement processes, including submission of mandatory documents such as BBBEE certificates and CSD reports.
• Capability to meet delivery deadlines and provide after-sales support, including warranty services and technical assistance.
• Understanding of procurement policies, including adherence to the Preferential Procurement Regulations and related legislation.
• Competence in managing documentation, sample submission, and compliance with administrative requirements.
