Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as specified in the attached technical specifications. The procurement aims to ensure the provision of quality PPE items that meet safety standards and departmental branding requirements, supporting the department's operational safety and compliance needs.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, offloading, and branding of various PPE items such as T-shirts, boots, hats, dustcoats, jackets, trousers, gloves, aprons, face shields, respirators, and other related safety gear. The items must conform to specified specifications, including branding with the departmental logo, and be delivered to designated addresses within the specified delivery timelines.

Technical Requirements

• All PPE items must comply with the specifications provided, including fabric types, weights, sizes, and safety standards.
• Items such as T-shirts must be branded with the departmental logo prior to delivery, with samples submitted for fitting and approval.
• Samples of all items must be produced and approved by the end-user before final quoting and delivery.
• Specific items include branded T-shirts, safety boots (steel toe cap and Chelsea styles), wide brim hats, dustcoats, storm puffer jackets, work jackets and trousers, housecoats, gumboots, socks, gloves, aprons, face shields, respirators, and other protective gear.
• All branded items must carry the departmental logo, with branding samples submitted for approval prior to delivery.
• Items must be delivered within the specified delivery periods, with prices inclusive or exclusive of VAT as applicable.

Skills and Supplier Requirements

• Proven capability to produce PPE items that meet technical specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to produce branded items with departmental logos, including sample production and fitting arrangements.
• Compliance with quality assurance standards, including inspection by SABS where applicable.
• Experience in handling large-scale PPE procurement, delivery, and offloading logistics.
• Submission of supporting documentation such as BBBEE certificates, CSD reports, and proof of compliance with tax and supplier registration requirements.
• Availability to produce samples for approval before finalizing the order.
• Capacity to meet delivery timelines and provide support for branding and fitting.
