Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to inspect, service, test, and report on the Reyrolle switchgear at the Lagulhas Substation. The service includes assessment of all associated components such as batteries and tripping units, providing a detailed condition report, and recommending necessary repairs or replacements to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Inspection, servicing, testing, and reporting on the Reyrolle switchgear and associated components.
• Preparation of a detailed report indicating the current condition, required repairs, and safety status.
• Assessment of batteries, tripping units, and other related equipment.
• Provision of recommendations for repairs, major repairs, or replacement where necessary.
• Attendance at a compulsory site visit and site meeting scheduled for 15 July 2026.

Technical Requirements

• Inspection, servicing, and testing of Reyrolle switchgear and associated components including batteries and tripping units.
• Submission of a comprehensive report detailing the condition, repairs needed, and safety assessment.
• Adherence to relevant standards and specifications, including occupational health and safety regulations.
• Attendance at a site meeting and compliance with site safety protocols.
• Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and qualified personnel to perform the work.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified electrical engineers or technicians with experience in switchgear inspection, testing, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Reyrolle switchgear systems and associated components.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as SANS 1200, IEC, and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and repair/replacement recommendations.
• Competence in conducting site inspections and adhering to safety protocols.
