Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Home Based Care Kits to support home care patients. The initiative aims to ensure the supply of essential care kits that meet specified standards and specifications, facilitating effective home-based healthcare services within the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 50 Home Based Care Kits to GJ Crookes Hospital. The kits include various medical and hygiene items as detailed in the specifications, with the requirement that all items are packed securely and labeled appropriately. The procurement is a once-off contract with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of Home Based Care Kits comprising specified items such as petroleum jelly, surgical tape, conforming bandages, gauze swabs, cotton wool swabs, wooden spatulas, examination gloves, soap, mouthwash, adult incontinence diapers, linen savers, and other related items.
• Items must conform to relevant standards such as SABD, SABS, ASTM, and European Norms.
• Items must be sterile, sterile and autoclavable where applicable, and packed in sealed boxes with outside labeling indicating contents.
• All items should meet the specifications outlined in the detailed product descriptions, including size, material, and quality standards.
• Delivery must be timely, with the goods delivered to the specified address at GJ Crookes Hospital, No.1 Hospital Road, Scottsburgh, into the designated tender box.
• Quotes must be submitted on official forms and include all costs, including VAT if applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Ability to supply medical and healthcare products that meet specified standards and quality requirements.
• Experience in packaging, labeling, and delivering healthcare kits in compliance with health and safety standards.
