Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply syringes and needles to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the availability of quality medical supplies that meet specified standards and specifications, supporting livestock vaccination and related activities within the department's operational areas.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply and delivery of various types of syringes, needles, and related medical equipment as detailed in the specifications. Items include disposable needles, Jelco IV catheters of different sizes, reusable nulon syringes, multi-sample needles, and vaccinator syringes. The delivery is to be made to the Department's specified address in Makhathini Research Station, Jozini, by the proposed delivery date of 30 September 2026.

The scope also covers compliance with technical standards, inspection requirements, and adherence to specified delivery periods and pricing conditions.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of sterile disposable needles (18G x 1½") with 100 needles per box.
• Supply of Jelco IV catheters in sizes 18G, 20G, 22G, and 24G, with 50 pieces per box.
• Automatic metal vaccinator syringes of 5ml and 10ml capacities with tube feeders, compatible with Luer Lock needles.
• Highly durable, reusable nulon syringes of 10ml and 20ml with metal treads for durability.
• Multi-sample sterile needles (18G x 1.2 x 25mm) with 100 pieces per box.
• Sterile, non-toxic, non-pyrogenic, latex-free 20ml syringes with 3 parts Luer slip, single-use only, 50 pieces per box.
• Items must comply with relevant SABS specifications and be inspected accordingly.
• Delivery within the specified period after initial order, with prices to be firm and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in the supply and delivery of medical and veterinary supplies, specifically syringes and needles.
• Knowledge of technical specifications and standards related to medical equipment, including SABS compliance.
• Ability to meet delivery deadlines and provide quality assurance documentation.
• Capacity to provide competitive pricing and adhere to procurement policies.
• Compliance with tax and BBBEE requirements, including submission of relevant certificates and affidavits.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for technical and logistical enquiries.
