Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the desludging of conservancy and septic tanks in Queenstown and surrounding areas over a period of four (4) months. The aim is to ensure proper waste management and sanitation in the specified areas, complying with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of desludging services for conservancy and septic tanks in Queenstown and surrounding areas.
• Disposal of sewage quantities generated from desludging activities.
• Use of specified equipment such as Honey Sucker trucks or equivalent with a minimum capacity of 5000L.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards during operations.
• Completion of all desludging activities within the four-month period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Ownership and proof of ownership of necessary equipment (e.g., Honey Sucker trucks or equivalent).
• Compliance with the specifications for disposal rates, including all labor, materials, equipment, overheads, and safety standards.
• Provision of a detailed work plan and schedule within 14 days of contract commencement.
• Proper handling, transportation, and disposal of sewage in accordance with environmental and health regulations.
• Provision of security, insurance, and security clearance where applicable.
• Adherence to safety, confidentiality, and legal requirements throughout the contract period.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Ownership of suitable desludging equipment (minimum 5000L capacity) with proof of ownership.
• Experience in desludging and waste disposal operations, demonstrated through previous projects.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ability to prepare and submit detailed work plans, schedules, and reports.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety, environmental, and waste management regulations.
• Capability to provide security, insurance, and security clearance as required.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate training and expertise in desludging operations.
