Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure uniforms and personal protective clothing for various departments and institutions within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, including hospital staff, cleaners, drivers, and other service categories. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality, standardized uniforms that meet specified standards and statutory requirements for a contract period of three years.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a wide range of uniforms and protective clothing, including:

• Golf T-shirts, black shoes, navy skirts, jerseys, trousers, and shirts for both male and female staff.
• Specific items such as navy skirts, ladies skirts, navy V-neck jerseys, Bengaline pants, black trousers, and white lounge shirts.
• Uniforms for cleaners, supervisors, drivers, and other service categories across multiple institutions, notably St Andrews Hospital and associated facilities.
• All items must adhere to the specified standards, local content requirements, and statutory regulations, with a contract duration of 3 years.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the uniforms include:

• Use of specified fabrics such as polycotton pique knit, polyester, spandex, and polyester with 100% quality polyester for certain items.
• Design features like contrast trims, side slits, reinforced edges, and specific styles (e.g., plain skirts with back slit, button closures, belt loops).
• Size ranges from XS to XXXXL or larger, with detailed measurements for each item.
• Items must conform to relevant standards (SABS, SANAS, ISO) and be fully compliant with specifications, including durability, washability, and safety standards.
• All uniforms must be delivered within the agreed timeframes, with proper packaging and documentation.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Capability to produce and supply uniforms that meet detailed technical specifications and quality standards.
• Experience in manufacturing or supplying uniforms and protective clothing for large-scale institutional contracts.
• Compliance with statutory requirements such as B-BBEE certification, CSD registration, and tax compliance.
• Ability to provide supporting documents such as ownership certificates, BBBEE certificates, and sworn affidavits to claim preference points.
• Capacity to deliver within specified timeframes and handle large volume orders across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, contractual obligations, and quality assurance processes.
